        Pumpkin Pie Disaster
Proof that sometimes dinner guests can be so polite. I am not much of a cook but I do like to cook stuff on the grill. For some reason I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and bake a pumpkin pie. Perfect timing since I was to have dinner guests that same evening. I had the pies done just in time for my guests to arrive. I was so proud at my new accomplishment that I had to mention it was my first time baking a pie. Being the polite host that I am I let everyone else dig in while I cleared the table of the dinner plates. I failed to realize there was a problem even though the room was very silent. Of course it could have been that they were just enjoying the delicious pie. Not quite. It wasn't til one of my closer friends got up from the table a whispered that the pie wasn't very good that I looked at the other guests to see who else felt this way. They seemed to be eating the pie just fine. I thought to myself,.. how bad could it be? So I dished up a piece for my self and took a small bite. I quickly realized that I added salt when I should have added sugar. I then asked the group why they were eating the pie when it tasted so bad. They all claimed that it was only a little salty. Great friends always know when to stretch the truth a bit. Of course I would have rather had them speak up then continue eating salty pie. I gave up baking and haven't done so since.
