The old saying goes “The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, the second best time is today!” A tree can be an asset to any yard. They can be used as a beautiful focal point; some have flowers in the spring, while others give us a bust of color as a last hurrah before we go into winter. They can give us shade to lounge under, or to provide food &/or shelter for birds and wild life. Planting a tree is also a great way of marking a special event (the birth of a child, a graduation or anniversary, etc.) or to memorialize the passing of a loved one. Trees can be a wise investment also, if planted in a strategic location; they will even help reduce your cooling costs in the summer and your heating cost in the winter.
